The PAF core facility was created in 2002 thanks to generous contributions from the University of Lausanne and the Leenardts Foundation.
Mission and organisation
The primary mission of the facility is to support the local UNIL/CHUV research community in the analysis of proteins and proteomes. The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) allocates the PAF the resources to acquire state-of-the-art equipment and implement modern proteomics workflows. These are then made available to all FBM research groups without distinction. Like other FBM core facilities, the PAF operates on a fee-per-service basis.
Extended support
In proteomics, sound experimental design and rigorous data analysis are essential for success. At the PAF we fully support users in these two key phases that preceed and follow bench work.
Teaching
We provide courses at the Master and postgraduate level to disseminate the knowledge of proteomics technologies among students and researchers (Master MLS, Master BM).
Networking
The PAF is member of the Swiss Proteomics Core Facility Network (SwissPCF-NET), a network of academic proteomics facilities in Switzerland. SwissPCF-NET members meet once a year to exchange experiences and strengthen contacts.
