Tanycyte Contributions to Hypothalamic Development
Tanycytes are specialized radial glial-derived cells that emerge during late embryonic and early postnatal development. Their differentiation follows the maturation of the hypothalamic ventricular zone and coincides with the formation of key hypothalamic circuits. However, many questions remain on whether tanycytes can influence postnatal development.

Determining the long-term functional consequences of tanycyte–neuron interactions on energy balance and neuroendocrine regulation
- Defining the timing and molecular cues that regulate tanycyte differentiation during hypothalamic development
- Investigating how tanycytes influence postnatal hypothalamic development
- Identifying tanycyte-derived signals that guide the formation and maturation of hypothalamic circuits
