Q&A

But what exactly does the LAB do?

Our main goal is to support and represent biology students in every possible way. Whether it's study sessions, educational outings, chill hangouts, or wild parties, we aim to build a strong community and organize activities that students actually enjoy.

On a more official level, we act as the link between students and the Faculty of Biology and Medicine. We advocate for your interests by representing you in the faculty council.

I’d like to join the association, how can I do that?

All biology students, regardless of their year, can join the LAB—no prerequisites, no membership fees.

To become a member, just attend one of our general assemblies and apply for the position you’re interested in. If the number of candidates is equal to or lower than the number of available spots, everyone is elected automatically. If there’s competition for a position, an election will be held during the assembly.

What positions are available within the LAB?

The LAB has a total of 44 positions.

The committee includes 10 roles:

  • President and Vice-President
  • Secretary and Vice-Secretary
  • Treasurer and Vice-Treasurer
  • Communication Manager
  • Sponsorship Manager
  • Two members of the inspection body

The teams are divided as follows:

  • Estudiantine, Excursions, and Manifestation Teams: 8 spots each
  • Workchope Team: 10 spots

What are the benefits of being a LAB member?

Besides looking great on your CV (yes, you’ll receive a certificate of participation at graduation!), being in the LAB comes with several perks:

  • Access to the LAB room to eat, nap, or study in peace between classes
  • Unlimited use of the microwave and coffee machine
  • A student network that connects all cohorts, perfect for exchanging advice and tips

Do I have to be a LAB member to participate in activities?

No, our activities are open to all students, not just active members.

How can I suggest an event idea?

We’re always open to new ideas! That’s exactly what the LAB is about, organizing events that interest you.
