Author guidelines

Climate Informatics invites submission of high-quality, novel contributions that bridge the gap between climate/weather research and data sciences to advance the state-of-the-art in data-driven methodologies in atmospheric sciences.

Authors may submit their research in the following two categories:

  • Full paper
  • Extended abstract

Please refer to Call for Participation and Submission Guidelines for additional information and support to facilitate a successful submission to CI2026.

Formatting requirements

All CI2026 submissions must be prepared using the official CI2026 conference template. The LaTeX and Word templates will be available on the website shortly.

All submissions (including supplementary information) must be in PDF format and written in english.

FIgures and tables should be clearly visible in both grayscale and color format. We recommend using colorblind safe color pallettes for all colored figures in your submission.

Submission requirements

Papers must be submitted electronically via the conference CMT submission portal. The link to this portal will be available shortly.

The corresponding author must ensure that all coauthors approve all the results that are presented in the submission and the final manuscript.

At least one author must register and present the work at the conference (in person/remote).

Review and publication

All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

Papers must be written in English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek Language Editing Assistance prior to submission.

Authors must remove identifiable information (e.g., name, affiliations, acknowledgements) from the manuscript before submitting your work to the CMT portal for review. Failure to remove such information will result in desk rejections.

Full papers that are accepted after the review process and presented at the conference will be published in a special issue of the Environmental Data Sciences (EDS) journal. Detailed guidelines to transfer the manuscript to EDS will be available after the conference.

Registration and Attendance

At least one author per accepted paper or extended abstract must be registered to the conference and present their work at the conference.

Presenting authors are expected to attend and participate in the conference in person or virtually.

Conference experience

CI2026 encourages interdisciplinary collaborations between climate scientists, meteorologists, data sciences, and policy researchers.

Authors are highly encouraged to adhere to the principle of reproducible research. Authors should, when possible, provide data availability statements, code repisitories, and links to open datasets.

Authors from underrepresented backgrounds and regions are strongly encouraged to apply to the conference.
