Andries de Vries is a postdoctoral researcher in the Atmospheric Processes group.

His research focuses on the atmospheric processes leading to extreme weather events using observations and models. Key areas of expertise are weather systems, Rossby waves, extreme precipitation events, and subtropical weather and climate.

Other research interests are the Earth’s water cycle, stable water isotopes, weather and climate dynamics, weather prediction, and climate variability and change.
