From the 17th–21st of June, we attended the XIII Cardiff Conference on the Theory and Practice of Translation in the Middle Ages, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Denis gave a talk on “A Queen Reading Pseudo-Dionysius: John of Pecham’s Anglo-Norman Moralizing Paraphrase of the Heavenly Hierarchy”.
Christiania presented on “The Treatise of Perfection of the Sons of God and the English Apophatic Tradition”.
Olena spoke about “Constructing a Middle English Philosophy of Mind: The Cloud-Author’s Translations and Innovations”.
We were also joined by Lorenzo Zaggia, a visiting doctoral student from the University of Padua, who presented on “(Re-)Sculpting Authority. The Middle English Translation of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite’s Mystica Theologia”.
