We work on the impacts of rapid climate change and human activities on Alpine landscapes, including glaciers, hydrology, geomorphology and aquatic ecosystems. We work in Europe, South America, Canada and New Zealand, but our primary focus is upon Switzerland. This work has two axes: (1) developing a mechanistic understanding of proglacial margin environments, created as glaciers retreat; and (2) quantifying how rapid climate warming  and direct human impacts such as hydropower are impacting bedload production and transport in Alpine environments.
