The Applied AI Lab is excited to announce that Prof. Shrestha’s paper “Integrating Multimodal Data and Machine Learning for Entrepreneurship Research,” co-authored with Prof. Vivianna Fang He, has been accepted for publication in the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal (SEJ) as part of its special issue on “Entrepreneurial Decisions in the Digital Age.”

The paper explores how human perception naturally combines inputs like sight, sound, and other senses and that entrepreneurs likewise draw on a variety of information sources when making decisions. Yet, entrepreneurship research often treats data in a single mode, potentially missing out on richer insights. To address this, the paper introduces a framework for using machine learning to integrate and analyze multimodal data more effectively, helping researchers capture the subtle yet critical cues in entrepreneurial processes. It also curated resources to help scholars incorporate such data in their work.
