We are excited to announce that Dr. Karen Sandoval from UniNe, will be delivering a seminar on Digital Intimacy Under Watch: The Legal Limits of Femtech in an Era of Backlash.

Abstract: As Femtech redefines women’s healthcare, it brings both innovation and new risks to data privacy. In an era increasingly marked by gender backlash, the legal protection of reproductive and health data has become a critical battlefield. This presentation compares the legal landscapes of Canada and Switzerland, evaluating how current frameworks handle the vulnerabilities of sensitive health data. By highlighting practical gaps and legal uncertainties, this session examines whether existing laws are sufficiently robust to protect women’s rights in an evolving and sometimes hostile socio-political climate.
