Hello, I am
Hamza Aarab
Hi! I’m Hamza, currently pursuing a Master’s in Information Systems at HEC Lausanne.
My research focuses on runtime AI governance: how AI systems can recognise, while they are running, when a decision should go ahead, be escalated to a human, or be stopped, rather than relying only on checks before or after deployment. I’m particularly interested in turning legal and ethical principles into mechanisms that systems can actually enforce.
Before my Master’s, I spent several years in IT and operations at Philips, HSBC and ByteDance. I also hold a Master’s in International Relations, which is where my interest in how technology is governed first took shape.
Outside of academics, football has always been a big part of my life. I used to play professionally, and today I’m a UEFA B–licensed coach in both football and futsal.
