The environment and its relationship with society are at the heart of research and teaching at the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment. This broad theme is addressed through disciplinary (geology, geography) and interdisciplinary (environmental sciences, environmental humanities, sustainability) approaches at the crossroads of the natural, human and social sciences.
The Institute of Earth Sciences and the Institute of Land Surface Dynamics analyze and model historical and recent processes of physical, chemical and biological change on our planet, linked to natural and anthropogenic factors. The Institute of Geography and Sustainability focuses on the organization of space, ecological thinking, the relationship between society and the environment, and the sustainability of our lifestyles.
