Dr. Gudbjörg Vilhjálmsdóttir

Dr. Gudbjörg Vilhjálmsdóttir is a professor in career guidance and counselling at the University of Iceland. She has been training counselors at the University since 1991. After a B.A. degree in education and philosophy at the University of Iceland, she received a degree in counselling from the Université de Lyon II in 1985 (Certificat d‘aptitude aux fonctions de conseiller d‘orientation) and a masters degree in Education from Université Paris V  in 1987. Dr. Villhjálmsdóttir became doctor of philosophy specialising in career counselling from the University of Hertfordshire in 2004.

Dr. Vilhjálmsdóttir has received the NCDA international award in 2006 (National career development Association) for her work in  developing the counseling profession in Iceland. She has also received an award from the Icelandic Association of School and Career counsellors.
