Getting there and back: The Lavaux wine terraces are easily accessible by train. From Lausanne Gare a train takes you to Saint-Saphorin, the starting point of the hike, in approx. 20 minutes. From Lutry, the end of the hike, there are also regular train connections back to Lausanne.
