Aebi, Stefano Caneppele and Lorena Molnar published the proceeding of the conference about the role of crime statistics and victimisation surveys in measuring cybercrime in Europe. The conference was organized by the Council of Europe, with the support of the European Union, on 29-30 october 2020. (<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/space-i\/annual-reports\/\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The SPACE project gets the 2019 ICPA President&rsquo;s Award!<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The Council of Europe has been awarded the 2019 International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) President&rsquo;s Award as a recognition for the collection and collation of the Council of Europe Annual Penal Statistics (SPACE).\u00a0Data related to prisons are collected since 1983 (SPACE I) and data related to non\u2011custodial sanctions and measures (SPACE II) are collected since 1992. The data are provided by an extensive network of national correspondents working in the prison and probation services of the 47 Council of Europe member States. These data are collected, verified and analysed for the Council of Europe by a team of experts from the University of Lausanne.\u00a0SPACE is an important world\u2011wide used source of comparative information and data. These data play a key role in enabling public authorities to make informed policy decisions in the penal field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Award-2019-small.jpg\"><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2117 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Award-2019-small-300x177.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Award-2019-small-300x177.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Award-2019-small.jpg 472w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The EU\/CoE co-funded a project concerning <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/space-i\/prisons-in-europe-2005-2015\/\">prison trends and foreign offenders in Europe<\/a>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Prisons in Europe 2005- 2015<\/em><\/strong>: <em><b>Prisons in Europe 2005- 2015<\/b><\/em>: this study<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>presents data on prison populations across Europe from 2005 to 2015. <span lang=\"EN-GB\">It is divided in two volumes<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">: <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Prisons-in-Europe-2005-2015-Volume-1.pdf\">volume 1<\/a> presents country profiles based on several indicators concerning prison populations, and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Prisons-in-Europe-2005-2015-Volume-2.pdf\">volume 2<\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>includes all the data used for the study.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><strong>Foreign offenders in prison and on probation in Europe<\/strong>: <\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">this volume presents a<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>descriptive longitudinal study that analyses the data currently available on the number of foreigners in the prison and under the supervision of probation agencies in the 47 member states of the Council of Europe<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/files\/2019\/12\/Foreign-Offenders-in-Prison-and-on-Probation-in-Europe.pdf\">link<\/a>).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>2018 SPACE II report<\/strong> is now available (<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/space-ii\/annual-reports\/\">link<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>2018 SPACE I report<\/strong> is now available (<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/space-i\/annual-reports\/\">link)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>New maps concerning the Prison Population Rate in Europe are now available <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/space\/a-propos\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><strong><em>LINCS<\/em><\/strong>: the EU\/CoE co-funded a new project which\u00a0aims at linking SPACE statistics with the criminal justice statistics collected by The European Sourcebook members.
