{"id":999,"date":"2016-09-29T14:35:54","date_gmt":"2016-09-29T12:35:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/sgg\/?page_id=999"},"modified":"2016-09-29T14:36:18","modified_gmt":"2016-09-29T12:36:18","slug":"positions-2016","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/sgg\/positions-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Positions 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Postdoctoral &amp; PhD positions in Statistical Genetics<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Background:<\/strong>\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/sgg\">Statistical Genetics Group<\/a> of Zolt\u00e1n Kutalik at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iumsp.ch\/\">Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine<\/a> of the University Hospital of Lausanne is investigating the genetic architecture of complex human traits and diseases. In particular, we develop methods tailored to discover gene-environment interactions, parent-of-origin effects, causal impact of molecular phenotypes, allelic heterogeneity, copy-number variant associations etc. Via longstanding collaborations we are fortunate to have access to several large cohorts with genomic-, transcriptomic- and metabolomics data. We have an extensive web of collaborations both in Switzerland and abroad (University of Exeter, University of Regensburg, Imperial College London, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, etc.). Our group is also member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sib.swiss\/\">Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Prerequisites:<\/strong>\u00a0We are interested in recruiting talented and highly motivated individuals with an academic degree (MSc\/PhD) in statistics \/ mathematics \/ bioinformatics \/ computer science.
