The ecosystem concept of rivers recognizes the importance of <strong>abiotic <\/strong>processes (e.g., morphodynamics), <strong>habitat <\/strong>diversity, the role of riparian <strong>vegetation <\/strong>and <strong>organic matter<\/strong>, the diversity of living beings and the complex interdependence between all of them.
