Jaboyedoff participated to the <strong>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpri.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/gndw\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Second Global Summit of Research Institutes for Disaster Risk Reduction: Development of a Research Road Map for the Next Decade<\/a>\u201d <\/strong>which was held at Uji Campus of <strong>Kyoto University on 19-20 March 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/files\/2015\/05\/ns2-007.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-2815 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/files\/2015\/05\/ns2-007.jpg\" alt=\"ns2-007\" width=\"335\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a>The goal of this meeting was to discuss the different challenges linked to disaster risk reduction (DRR) and resilience to disasters. <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/second-global-summit-of-research-institutes-for-disaster-risk-reduction-development-of-a-research-road-map-for-the-next-decade-at-kyoto-university-on-19-20-march-2015\/\">M. Jaboyedoff presented how the Risk-Group of the ISTE deals with those challenges<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This meeting permitted to draft a Resolution that in process of finalization approved by 83 research organizations (51 non-Japanese) coming from 21 countries.<\/li>\n<li>In addition, University of Kyoto proposed to create the Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI). Secretariat of GADRI will be located at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpri.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DPRI <\/a>at University of Kyoto, Prof. Hirokazu Tatano acting as Secretary General.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Dean of the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment, Prof. F. Bussy, has approved the participation of the faculty to GADRI.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>M.
