A three-storey appartment building \u00a0was destroyed by a landslide on November 16th<\/sup> 2014 in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. Two women were\u00a0killed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At\u00a02:30 pm, a wall -weakened by the heavy rainfalls-\u00a0located 50m away and above the building\u00a0broke, releasing 500 m3 to\u00a01\u2019000 m3 of muddy\u00a0material\u00a0in\u00a0the Davesco-Soragno village, near of Lugano. Hundred\u00a0rescuers accompagnied by\u00a0sniffer dogs worked\u00a0during the\u00a0night in the rubble to find the victims. Besides two fatalities, one man was\u00a0seriously injured, three persons were\u00a0slightly injured and one person kept uninjured.<\/p>\n

Strong rain precipitations occurred since at least ten days\u00a0before the event on the area of Lugano. This landslide occurred 11km away from the previous disaster\u00a0where\u00a0two persons were killed 11 days ago.<\/p>\n
