{"id":2272,"date":"2014-06-22T16:24:37","date_gmt":"2014-06-22T14:24:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/?p=2272"},"modified":"2023-12-06T11:04:45","modified_gmt":"2023-12-06T10:04:45","slug":"fieldwork-in-tunisia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/fieldwork-in-tunisia\/","title":{"rendered":"Fieldwork in Tunisia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Fieldwork Campaign in Tunisia \u2013 Structural characterization of oil\u00a0reservoirs with Terrestrial Laser Scanning and GigaPan technics.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">As part of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>her PhD thesis, Raja Mastouri of the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Risk Group<\/em>\u00a0is<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>working on coupling terrestrial<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>LiDAR\u00a0and 3D seismic to characterize<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>brittle structures<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0a sedimentary basins on Eastern Tunisia.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The goal of this research is to interpret the fractures and faults systems to understand the local tectonic history and how they affect reservoir rocks. This project is done in partnership with ETAP (Entreprise Tunisienne d\u2019Activit\u00e9s P\u00e9troli\u00e8res) and Prof. Samir Bouaziz at <em>Ecole Nationale d&#8217;Ing\u00e9nieurs de Sfax<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/files\/2014\/07\/Tunisie_fieldwork.png\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2273\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/files\/2014\/07\/Tunisie_fieldwork-300x234.png\" alt=\"Tunisie_fieldwork\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/files\/2014\/07\/Tunisie_fieldwork-300x234.png 300w, https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/risk\/files\/2014\/07\/Tunisie_fieldwork.png 946w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">During the last week of\u00a0May 2014, Raja went for\u00a0fieldwork in different sites of Eastern Tunisia with Robin Marchant (curator at the Museum of Geology of Lausanne), Antoine Guerin (PhD student in the <i>Risk Group<\/i>) and engineering geologists and geophysicists from ETAP: Marzouk Lazzez, Wiem Harrathi, Achraf Boulaares and Majdi Akremi.
