Over 2000 landslides were induced by the floods across the Balkan area (<a title=\"Thousands flee Bosnia landslides\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.ie\/world-news\/thousands-flee-bosnia-landslides-30283078.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independent<\/a>). Serbia was the most affected region follow-up by\u00a0Bosnia and Herzegovina (respectively 33 [<a title=\"Serbian government lifts state of emergency\" href=\"https:\/\/www.b92.net\/eng\/news\/politics.php?yyyy=2014&amp;mm=05&amp;dd=23&amp;nav_id=90432\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">b92<\/a>] and 24 fatalities [<a title=\"Landmines pose threat after Bosnia floods\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/video\/europe\/2014\/05\/landmines-post-threat-after-bosnia-floods-2014523162133706216.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AlJazeera<\/a>]).\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">Those events are\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">the heaviest rains and floods recorded in the past 120 years in these two countries, with more\u00a0than 105 mm daily rain recorded in\u00a0several major towns like Belgrad (<a title=\"Thousands flee Bosnia landslides\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.ie\/world-news\/thousands-flee-bosnia-landslides-30283078.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independent<\/a>). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">One of the main concerns of the authorities after the floods peak is that it remains\u00a0more\u00a0than 100&#8217;000 land mines across Bosnia and Herzegovin from the Bosnian War (1992-1995).
