PLANH<\/em>\u2019s teaching philosophy is guided by the goal of equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for their future professional and personal paths as planners and spatial practitioners. <\/strong>To this end, our teaching formats are closely connected to practice. We collaborate with external partners such as representatives from the Ville de Lausanne<\/em> (planning department) and the Ville de Renens<\/em> (urban development department).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

PLANH<\/em> offers courses at the University of Lausanne at both Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s levels. Teaching is often complemented by practical exercises<\/strong> that enable students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world planning contexts. In addition, PLANH<\/em> is actively involved in the supervision of Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, and seminar theses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Urban Atelier<\/strong> is inspired by the \u201cstudio\u201d methodology used in architectural and engineering education. Unlike these technically oriented disciplines, PLANH<\/em> adapts the studio approach from a social science perspective. Students learn how to produce outputs such as photo series or podcasts<\/strong> and present their findings in a World Caf\u00e9-style final exhibition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bachelor\u2019s Course: Am\u00e9nagement du territoire en Suisse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course introduces the fundamentals of spatial planning and development in Switzerland. Students learn about contemporary challenges and obstacles in Swiss spatial development, the key instruments and strategies of Swiss spatial planning, and how to apply these approaches in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
