The PAF core facility was created in 2002 thanks to generous contributions from the University of Lausanne<\/strong> and the Leenardts Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission and organisation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The primary mission of the facility is to support the local UNIL\/CHUV research community in the analysis of proteins <\/strong>and proteomes<\/strong>. The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM<\/strong>) allocates the PAF the resources to acquire state-of-the-art equipment and implement modern proteomics workflows. These are then made available to all FBM research groups without distinction. Like other FBM core facilities<\/a>, the PAF operates on a fee-per-service basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extended support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In proteomics, sound experimental design and rigorous data analysis are essential for success. At the PAF we fully support users in these two key phases that preceed and follow bench work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We provide courses at the Master and postgraduate level to disseminate the knowledge of proteomics technologies among students and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PAF is in close contact with similar units at the EPFL and at the Universities of Geneva, Bern and Fribourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since August 2010, the PAF is member of the R\u00e9PP-SO (“R\u00e9seau des Plate-formes de Prot\u00e9omique de Suisse Occidentale”), a network of proteomics facilities in West Switzerland.
