The Centre informatique (Ci) provides the most reliable and up-to-date technologies to facilitate teleworking and support UNIL’s teaching, research and administrative missions.
Some services are reserved for UNIL staff, while others can also be used by students and partners. Find out about all the tools available to help you work off-campus.
Computers for teleworking
If you have a teleworking agreement, the University will provide you with a laptop so that you can use your machine and software on campus or at home. It is therefore preferable to use a UNIL computer for teleworking.
Computer screen loan for telecommuting
As part of Directive 1.40 on teleworking, the IT Center’s central purchasing unit is making screens available on loan to make it easier for you to work from home. You can check your eligibility on our loan pages.
Home access to the UNIL network
To access all UNIL services from home, you need to use our “Pulse secure” VPN, secured by two-factor authentication. This network enables you to access your team’s own storage space and continue to benefit from privileged access (administrative intranet, scientific journal sites, etc.) from home.
Workstation backup
Protect your UNIL personal computer from data loss due to theft, crashes and other malware by installing our automatic backup software. Your data will be automatically backed up on a UNIL server every 3 hours, provided your machine is connected to the Internet.
Software distribution
UNIL provides its members with a distribution platform for the most widely-used software, both administrative and scientific.
Email and calendars
For greater flexibility, you can access your e-mail and calendar from a web browser, or set up e-mail on your devices for greater convenience.
Communication, telephony and videoconferencing
To work in groups, communicate by message, telephone or videoconference, the Ci provides all members of the Université de Lausanne with the TEAMS communication tool.
Online office suites
To facilitate collaborative working, the office.com platform gives you access to the online office suite, enabling you to work remotely on your documents. It also integrates Onedrive and Microsoft Teams, so you can easily share files with your colleagues.
Document backup and sharing
The microsoft365 suite gives you access to the Onedrive Cloud, where you can store your data and synchronize it with all your devices.
This service also lets you share documents directly from your drive in just a few clicks.
Online computer courses
Your UNIL account gives you access to LinkedIn Learning, which offers a wide range of online IT training courses that you can follow at your own pace and from home.
External services
Course delivery and distance learning
The Centre de soutien à l’enseignement (CSE) provides tools and equipment to broadcast live or deferred lessons.
Loan of an office chair
Anyone in possession of the annex to the teleworking agreement may also request the loan of an office chair for their home from the UNIBAT department, in accordance with the usual furniture request process.
