Elle vise \u00e0 promouvoir les \u00e9tudes sur la fiction, \u00e0 favoriser les \u00e9changes, dans un esprit r\u00e9solument comparatiste et interdisciplinaire. Elle r\u00e9unit des sp\u00e9cialistes de litt\u00e9rature et de th\u00e9orie litt\u00e9raire, de cin\u00e9ma, de jeux vid\u00e9o, des philosophes, des psychologues et des sp\u00e9cialistes de neurosciences. Les langues de communication sont le fran\u00e7ais et l\u2019anglais. Le site de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 est bilingue. Le projet initial est issu de la collaboration de Fran\u00e7oise Lavocat (Universit\u00e9 Sorbonne nouvelle, France), Alison James (Universit\u00e9 de Chicago, Etats-Unis), et Akihiro Kubo (Universit\u00e9 de Kwansei Gakuin, Japon). L\u2019objectif est d\u2019\u00e9tendre ce r\u00e9seau collaboratif au plus grand nombre possible de sph\u00e8res culturelles et linguistiques. Les colloques de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 auront lieu tous les deux ans. Dans la mesure du possible, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 organisera des s\u00e9minaires au sein des manifestations scientifiques d\u2019autres grandes soci\u00e9t\u00e9s internationales (AILC, MLA, ISSN\u2026.). Le premier colloque de la S.I.R.F.F.\/ I.S.F.F.S. aura lieu du 28 au 30 novembre 2019 \u00e0 Paris.
