Tenter de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cette question conduit \u00e0 aborder les textes sous l\u2019angle d\u2019une critique polyphonique. Dans cet essai, Rapha\u00ebl Baroni tente de remonter \u00e0 l\u2019origine plurielle des \u00e9nonc\u00e9s fictionnels et, parfois, de suivre le cordon ombilical qui rattache les romans \u00e0 la vie de leurs auteurs et au monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette d\u00e9marche consiste donc, occasionnellement, \u00e0 engager la responsabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9crivain. Mais ce dernier ne parle jamais seul: il \u00abest parl\u00e9\u00bb autant qu\u2019il fait parler ses personnages. Celles et ceux qui glorifient Houellebecq ou qui rejettent son \u0153uvre n\u2019entendent simplement pas les m\u00eames voix dans ses romans, et rien n\u2019oblige \u00e0 trancher le d\u00e9bat.
