I have always wanted children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever since I can remember,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That has been my biggest dream.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Today. I feel utterly hopeless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With World War III on our doorstep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate change no one cares about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new form of dictator in the US.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

I wanted to say he was an H***** 2.0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But my dad said I couldn\u2019t compare the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I think he\u2019s right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is different.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

But maybe also because it is less obvious today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deportation, and words, and walls are not like gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though a wall was in Germany too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

I feel like so many people don\u2019t care that much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just four years,\u201d they\u2019ll say<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, is it?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

I was talking to my boyfriend earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s the point?\u201d was our conclusion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

What\u2019s the point of being careful and humane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why not take the plane and eat meat and take baths all the time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the point about what we\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

We want to give the world a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to teach our children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God, we just want to live.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

But what\u2019s the point?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When so many people vote for separation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For climate oblivion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For women\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the point?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

And honestly, I wanted to cheer my boyfriend up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I was struggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It all seems so bleak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Do I really want to bring children to such a fucked-up world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the point except making them suffer?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Kamala Harris wrote that only in the darkest of times<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you see the stars in the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And though I want to believe her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I see the sky and I only see fog.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

What is the point?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is so much easier to be a careless human.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

I don\u2019t want to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still have dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still want children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But how selfish is that?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

So, I ask you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ask the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people out there who think like me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the point?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I feel alone. I think the world feels alone too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Left out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We need now more than ever to find the point of all this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And not to give up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
