A year ago I wrote you a poem,<\/span><\/p>\n

in an absurd language you don’t speak<\/span><\/p>\n

They were<\/span><\/p>\n

               happy sad words about who you <\/span><\/p>\n

were and <\/span><\/p>\n

               what I want to remember you by<\/span><\/p>\n

                              [warm tea, childlike stories, <\/span><\/p>\n

                              laughter from the chest]<\/span><\/p>\n

I could see those tiny cracks of the heart<\/span><\/p>\n

When grief is approaching<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Yesterday you asked me<\/span><\/p>\n

                              [My head was on your lap; <\/span><\/p>\n

                              you were <\/span><\/p>\n

                              gently combing through my hair]<\/span><\/p>\n

Polite, pause:<\/span><\/p>\n

               Excuse me, <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

               what is your name?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I swallow a scream and I smile<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

                              \u2018Hello, <\/span><\/p>\n

                                            I am your Blood<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                           and I am Stranger, <\/span><\/p>\n

                                            You gave me your eyes<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                           and your curls<\/span><\/p>\n

                                            I have your stubborn <\/span><\/p>\n

                                                           and your proverbs<\/span><\/p>\n

                                            I am the daughter <\/span><\/p>\n

                                                           and the sister<\/span><\/p>\n

                              Do you remember me?\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I see you running out of yourself, <\/span><\/p>\n

               fracture of the soul<\/span><\/p>\n

and the <\/span><\/p>\n

               patient <\/span><\/p>\n

trickling down of<\/span><\/p>\n

               sand <\/span><\/p>\n

in the<\/span><\/p>\n

               hourglass.<\/span><\/p>\n
