Last night, I was walking<\/p>\n

With a dear friend of mine.<\/p>\n

The night sky was lighting<\/p>\n

From a thousand stars that shine<\/p>\n

So brightly and clear \u00a0\u2013 but dying,<\/p>\n

Lost in the dark coldness<\/p>\n

Of the void endlessly stretching\u00a0\u2013<\/p>\n

Just like we were, aimless.<\/p>\n

We were roaming on black asphalt<\/p>\n

In search of holy taste of malt,<\/p>\n

We were straying from streets<\/p>\n

To bars; and from bars back to streets;<\/p>\n

With the orange look of streetlights<\/p>\n

As unique companion<\/p>\n

Of our drunk wandering run<\/p>\n

Trying to escape through the night.<\/p>\n

We reached the last of all bridges,<\/p>\n

So large we felt like small midges.<\/p>\n

Across it, our trip<\/p>\n

Should find its concluding sip.<\/p>\n

The large avenue right below<\/p>\n

Was reflecting the glow<\/p>\n

Of celestials bodies above<\/p>\n

With its sweet lights we were in love.<\/p>\n

The city under our feet<\/p>\n

Was stretching wide and far, asleep,<\/p>\n

In bright luminous sneak<\/p>\n

That we beheld from our wreak<\/p>\n

We stopped for a moment \u2013 or two \u2013<\/p>\n

To appreciate this view;<\/p>\n

Sitting, quiet, on the low wall<\/p>\n

That prevented to take the fall.<\/p>\n

The night and its tranquility,<\/p>\n

Made us forget the woes of life<\/p>\n

And the time so greatly;<\/p>\n

No more thinking of sting or knife.<\/p>\n

I want to go, called by the gin,<\/p>\n

Instead of enjoying<\/p>\n

The last few moments I\u2019m spending<\/p>\n

By his side \u2013 as I\u2019ve always been.<\/p>\n

And here they go, my feet I let<\/p>\n

End this memorable night thrill,<\/p>\n

But I don\u2019t know it yet<\/p>\n
