Dear MUSE\u2019s SUPER FANS, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope that you are all pulling through this stressful period of the semester! Remember that you are all tough cookies<\/strong>, and we believe in you and your chocolate chip perseverance! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also very<\/em> excited to announce that this Winter\u2019s MUSE<\/strong> edition of 2022 IS OUT<\/strong>!!! :D <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have received and published beautiful poems<\/strong>, thrilling stories<\/strong>, heartfelt pieces, hilarious anecdotes<\/strong>, do I need to say more<\/em>?! Is there any better way you could end the semester than cozily sitting in your favorite spot, with a warm cup of tea (or hot chocolate, whatever floats your boat) and reading your fellow students\u2019 enchanting and wonderfully written pieces??? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also pleased to say that this semester\u2019s MUSE team has conducted an interview<\/strong> with our lovely<\/em> department secretary<\/strong> (aka one of our English department\u2019s Wonder Women) Patricia Mascia<\/strong>! We are sure you are going to discover as many aspects of her multitasking job and her endearing personality as we did! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, this issue from your favorite<\/em> magazine also features hilarious<\/em> replies to our traditional Ask-the-Students<\/strong> confessional poll about your craziest excuses<\/em> for missing class! We would like to thank every student who shared with us their stories, they most certainly entertained us! Seriously, guys, if you need an uplifting break<\/strong> from studying, this quick read will definitely do the trick! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, the moment you have all <\/em>been waiting for… We are eager<\/em> to announce the three winning stories<\/strong> of our Short Story Competition on the theme of \u201cTomorrow\u201d. . . (drumroll please) . . . : In first place<\/strong>, Fanny Cheseaux\u2019s<\/strong> innovative tale \u201cThe Flight of the Seagull\u201d<\/strong> stole the show! In second place<\/strong>, William Flores\u2019s<\/strong> gripping \u201cVenus Flytrap\u201d<\/strong> had us all holding our breath until the very end! And finally, Salom\u00e9 Emilie Streiff\u2019s<\/strong> emotionally compelling and most touching piece \u201cA Cheap Eulogy about Stars\u201d<\/strong> earned the third place<\/strong>!  Let\u2019s give them and the remaining contestants a huge round of applause for their creativity, hard work, and courage! And we would like to thank our guest judges<\/strong> Dr. Val\u00e9rie Cossy, Dr. Sangam MacDuff, and BooksBooksBooks\u2019* one and only, Matthew Wake, for their input! Lastly, we would like to also thank Matthew for sponsoring<\/strong> once again a MUSE competition and, therefore, helping us fuel young minds\u2019 creativity and literary production.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our whole MUSE team is extremely grateful<\/strong> for every author’s<\/strong> contribution<\/strong>, even if it was just a short response to the poll, rest assured that we truly appreciate it. Sharing a piece of one\u2019s writing for the world to read is like giving away a fragment of one\u2019s self. And we are all deeply touched by your trust in us to transmit your soulful fragments. We are proud of you<\/strong> and congratulate your bravery! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish you all a pleasant read, relaxing holidays, and the best of luck for your assignments and up-coming exams! You can do this! And don\u2019t forget to take good care of yourselves<\/strong>, you deserve it :) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
