We are pleased to welcome Sophie Cras to present on her recent work \"L'\u00e9conomie au mus\u00e9e. Une histoire des savoirs \u00e9conomiques expos\u00e9s (XIXe-XXIe si\u00e8cle)\" at our first seminar of this academic year. As in the previous year, the seminar consists of a brief presentation by the speaker, and a group discussion of a text that is distributed in advance. Sophie will briefly introduce her work with these slides, and we will use these texts to discuss her work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sophie Cras has studied financial economics and art history, and is an associate professor at the of the University of Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne where she teaches history of contemporary art. She has published in American Art, Texte zur Kunst, La revue de l'art and Archiv f\u00fcr Mediengeschichte, among others. In 2019, the English translation of L\u2019\u00e9conomie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve de l\u2019art. Art et capitalism dans les ann\u00e9es (Dijon, Presses du Re\u00e9l), was published by Yale University Press, as The Artist as Economist. Art and Capitalism in the 1960s.
