L\u2019\u00c9gypte, qui d\u00e9couvre en effet le th\u00e9\u00e2tre sous sa forme europ\u00e9enne comme on le pratiquait au XIXe si\u00e8cle, s\u2019empare de cet art de la repr\u00e9sentation en produisant des pi\u00e8ces teint\u00e9es de pittoresque, de couleur locale. <!--more-->\u00c0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 le Caire vit au rythme de Paris et Alexandrie \u00e0 celui de Marseille, des th\u00e9\u00e2tres \u00e0 l\u2019italienne se construisent dans les grandes villes du pays. Mais au lieu d\u2019adapter des pi\u00e8ces du r\u00e9pertoire europ\u00e9en, les auteurs cr\u00e9ent des pi\u00e8ces arabisantes. Cela donne le go\u00fbt du th\u00e9\u00e2tre aux bourgeois et aristocrates \u00e9gyptiens, qui fr\u00e9quentent ainsi entarbouch\u00e9s les th\u00e9\u00e2tres, les kursaals et l\u2019Op\u00e9ra, devenant alors de v\u00e9ritables th\u00e9\u00e2tromanes\u2026 Cet ouvrage se propose d\u2019examiner la dramaturgie boulevardi\u00e8re de certains auteurs oubli\u00e9s de nos jours tels que Farah Antun, Antun Yazbek, les fr\u00e8res Teymour, Ibrahim Ramzi, Abbas Allam ou encore Fawzi Al-Miladi, et ce, afin d\u2019en d\u00e9celer les sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s dramatiques et th\u00e9\u00e2trales.<\/p>\n<p>Hanan HASHEM est docteur en \u00c9tudes th\u00e9\u00e2trales (dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Strasbourg). Apr\u00e8s avoir publi\u00e9 une \u00e9tude intitul\u00e9e\u00a0<em>\u00c9mile Augier, Alexandre Dumas fils, Victorien Sardou.
