Pierre Michon, Patrick Deville, Guy Goffette, Pascal Quignard ou Emmanuel Carr\u00e8re : tous ont compos\u00e9 des r\u00e9cits biographiques, \u00e0 leur fa\u00e7on. Et r\u00e9cemment, \u00e0 son tour, le romancier Jean Echenoz a invent\u00e9 ses propres variations autour du genre. De mani\u00e8re originale, il a mis en r\u00e9cits les vies de Maurice Ravel (<i>Ravel<\/i>, 2006), d\u2019\u00c9mile Zatopek (<i>Courir<\/i>, 2008), de Nikola Tesla (<i>Des \u00e9clairs<\/i>, 2010).<\/p>\n<p>Parus aux \u00c9ditions de Minuit, ces trois romans biographiques forment un corpus homog\u00e8ne, dont la pr\u00e9sente \u00e9tude d&rsquo;\u00c9milien Sermier (<a href=\"https:\/\/unil.ch\/fra\">Section de fran\u00e7ais<\/a>) cerne les constantes formelles et th\u00e9matiques. \u00c0 chaque fois, comme par jeu, Jean Echenoz s\u2019amuse autour d\u2019une forme fixe qu\u2019il parodie et d\u00e9tourne ; virtuose, son \u00e9criture s\u2019adapte \u00e0 la vie et \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre du biographi\u00e9. Mais une m\u00e9tamorphose, aussi, s\u2019accomplit. Car la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 historique est revisit\u00e9e par le regard singulier du romancier.
