Qu’est-ce que la tol\u00e9rance pour les philosophes et th\u00e9ologiens des XVIIe et XVIIIe si\u00e8cles en Grande-Bretagne?<\/strong><\/p>\n

La tol\u00e9rance est une notion centrale au d\u00e9but de la p\u00e9riode moderne, en particulier dans les domaines de la philosophie, de la th\u00e9ologie, de la politique et du droit.<\/p>\n

Ce num\u00e9ro sp\u00e9cial de la revue Global Intellectual History\u00a0<\/em>porte sur la tol\u00e9rance dans la pens\u00e9e de philosophes et de th\u00e9ologiens peu \u00e9tudi\u00e9s des XVIIe et XVIIIe si\u00e8cles, principalement originaires d’\u00c9cosse et d’Angleterre, parmi lesquels Samuel Rutherford, James Dundas, John Finch, George Keith, John Simson, Archibald Campbell, Francis Hutcheson, George Turnbull et John Witherspoon.<\/p>\n

Les articles r\u00e9unis par Christian Maurer\u00a0(Section de philosophie<\/a>) et Giovanni Gellera (Section de philosophie<\/a>), offrent des perspectives nouvelles en analysant et en contextualisant les enjeux politiques, religieux et moraux de la tol\u00e9rance. La mani\u00e8re d\u2019aborder la tol\u00e9rance s\u2019inspire notamment des d\u00e9bats sur les articles de foi et sur leur statut, sur la confession religieuse et son r\u00f4le, sur la libert\u00e9 de conscience et sur la relation entre l\u2019\u00c9glise et l\u2019\u00c9tat.<\/p>\n
