Quelles histoires faut-il raconter pour susciter l’id\u00e9e d’un monde meilleur?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cet ouvrage d\u00e9crit pour la premi\u00e8re fois la mani\u00e8re dont le genre de l\u2019utopie est devenu un lieu d\u2019imaginations politiques concurrentes entre 1848 et 1930 et explique comment l\u2019utopie a chang\u00e9 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 sociale \u00e0 plusieurs reprises.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9tude de Robert Leucht (Section d\u2019allemand<\/a>) aborde les utopies discr\u00e8tement formul\u00e9es du r\u00e9alisme, l\u2019essor du genre autour de 1900, les utopies d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie du d\u00e9but du XXe si\u00e8cle, ainsi que la th\u00e9orisation de l\u2019utopie apr\u00e8s 1918 (Ernst Bloch, Karl Mannheim, Robert Musil). L\u2019auteur analyse plusieurs \u00e9crivains parmi lesquels Alfred D\u00f6blin et Adalbert Stifter, tout comme les nombreuses impulsions que l\u2019utopie germanophone doit \u00e0 la litt\u00e9rature am\u00e9ricaine, fran\u00e7aise et russe.<\/p>\n

Cette histoire de l\u2019utopie moderne est en somme bien plus que celle d\u2019un genre litt\u00e9raire. Elle renvoie \u00e0 une question plus g\u00e9n\u00e9rale en \u00e9tudes culturelles: la relation entre litt\u00e9rature et politique. Elle nous permet de voir plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment les histoires racont\u00e9es, les personnages invent\u00e9s et les discours scientifiques utilis\u00e9s pour envisager la promesse d\u2019un monde meilleur.<\/p>\n
