Mieux comprendre deux romans phares de Jane Austen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Northanger Abbey<\/em> est l’un des premiers manuscrits de l\u2019\u00e9crivaine anglaise Jane Austen (1775-1817) ; Persuasion<\/em> son dernier texte. Publi\u00e9s dans un seul volume posthume, les deux romans diff\u00e8rent pourtant grandement.<\/p>\n

Northanger Abbey<\/em> est une parodie spirituelle et gothique, tandis que Persuasion<\/em> t\u00e9moigne d\u2019un renouvellement dans l\u2019\u00e9criture d\u2019Austen.<\/p>\n

Dans cet ouvrage, Enit Karafili Steiner (Section d’anglais<\/a>) guide le lecteur\u00b7rice \u00e0 travers les nombreuses interpr\u00e9tations qu\u2019ont connues ces deux livres au cours des deux derniers si\u00e8cles, en les cartographiant de mani\u00e8re th\u00e9matique et chronologique et en faisant dialoguer diverses approches telles que la critique psychanalytique, le structuralisme, le marxisme, ou le f\u00e9minisme. L\u2019auteure discute \u00e9galement des adaptations cin\u00e9matographiques des deux romans et leur relation avec la critique litt\u00e9raire.<\/p>\n
