C\u2019est une analyse in\u00e9dite qui est ici propos\u00e9e\u00a0: celle de la Kulturwissenschaftliche Bibliothek Warburg<\/em> (KBW) et du Warburg Institute<\/em> londonien qui lui succ\u00e9da, en tant que laboratoire exceptionnel d\u2019id\u00e9es et de m\u00e9thodes, port\u00e9 par une biblioth\u00e8que.<\/p>\n

De mani\u00e8re originale, les articles r\u00e9unis dans ce num\u00e9ro\u00a0co\u00e9dit\u00e9 par Carole Maign\u00e9 (Section de philosophie<\/a>) ne se focalisent donc pas sur l\u2019\u0153uvre et la personne d\u2019Aby Warburg en tant que telles, mais appr\u00e9hendent la KBW comme creuset intellectuel et scientifique.<\/p>\n

Raisonner en termes de laboratoire \u2013 le qualificatif est employ\u00e9 par Warburg lui-m\u00eame \u2013 permet de d\u00e9signer la nature du travail et des enjeux que recouvre la KBW, \u00e0 la fois espace physique et entit\u00e9 intellectuelle, \u00ab\u00a0collection de probl\u00e8mes\u00a0\u00bb (Cassirer), institution acad\u00e9mique, lieu de conf\u00e9rences, d\u2019expositions, d\u2019\u00e9dition et aussi \u00e9quipe de savants incluant Andr\u00e9 Jolles, Fritz Saxl, Gertrud Bing, Erwin Panofsky, Ernst Cassirer, Edgar Wind, Raymond Klibansky ou encore Alfred Doren, tous originaux mais li\u00e9s dans leurs d\u00e9marches.<\/p>\n
