En s\u2019appuyant sur des \u00e9tudes de cas couvrant plusieurs r\u00e9gions du monde grec \u2014 de l\u2019\u00e2ge du Bronze r\u00e9cent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque byzantine \u2014, les contributeurs abordent des interrogations fondamentales: qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019un \u00abpaysage religieux\u00bb? Comment employer ce concept de mani\u00e8re pertinente? Comment restituer des paysages que le temps a transform\u00e9s ou effac\u00e9s? Et comment la dimension religieuse des territoires grecs s\u2019articulait-elle avec les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques, sociales et politiques?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les chapitres proposent un large panorama g\u00e9ographique, de l\u2019Attique \u00e0 l\u2019Asie Mineure en passant par le P\u00e9loponn\u00e8se, la B\u00e9otie, l\u2019\u00c9pire et l\u2019Eub\u00e9e. Certaines contributions croisent donn\u00e9es de prospection arch\u00e9ologique et sources \u00e9crites; d\u2019autres proposent un regard d\u00e9centr\u00e9 sur de grands sanctuaires \u2014 tels qu\u2019Olympie, Kalapodi ou l\u2019Art\u00e9mision d\u2019Amarynthos \u2014, afin d\u2019explorer les dynamiques religieuses qui s\u2019organisent autour. Ensemble, elles \u00e9clairent la fa\u00e7on dont les espaces sacr\u00e9s ont \u00e9merg\u00e9, \u00e9volu\u00e9 et se sont int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans leur environnement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parce que le \u00abpaysage religieux\u00bb est d\u2019abord un concept analytique moderne, le volume s\u2019ouvre sur un chapitre m\u00e9thodologique qui en interroge le sens et les limites. Deux exemples ethnographiques contemporains \u2014 l\u2019un au Maroc, l\u2019autre en Inde \u2014 enrichissent la r\u00e9flexion en offrant un \u00e9clairage comparatiste sur les mani\u00e8res dont le religieux peut s\u2019inscrire dans l\u2019espace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cet ouvrage invite ainsi le lecteur \u00e0 exploiter le potentiel heuristique du concept de paysage religieux, tout en mesurant ses limites.
