\u00c9dit\u00e9 par Juliette Vuille et Rory Critten (Section d’anglais<\/a> et Centre d’\u00e9tudes m\u00e9di\u00e9vales et post-m\u00e9di\u00e9vales<\/a>), cet ouvrage rend hommage, \u00e0 l’occasion de sa retraite, \u00e0 l’importante contribution de Denis Renevey aux \u00e9tudes sur la d\u00e9votion et la mystique de la fin du Moyen \u00c2ge \u00e0 travers une s\u00e9rie d’essais consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 un th\u00e8me central de ses recherches: la puissance des mots et du Verbe (le Christ). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les autrices et les auteurs abordent la place centrale du langage dans l’exp\u00e9rience d\u00e9votionnelle et mystique. Non moins de 18 contributions ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives \u00e0 ce sujet, d’une investigation de l’expression de la relation \u00e0 Dieu au travers des langages de l’amour, de la m\u00e9decine ou du voyage, \u00e0 la conception de mots comme images puissantes dans les pratiques religieuses, en passant par les fa\u00e7ons apophatiques qu’ont les \u00e9crivains du Moyen \u00c2ge de d\u00e9passer le langage, au del\u00e0 des conventions linguistiques, pour exprimer la relation avec le divin. L’objectif de cet ouvrage est de d\u00e9montrer l’int\u00e9r\u00eat d’une approche philologique pour les chercheuses et les chercheurs qui \u00e9tudient la tradition chr\u00e9tienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
