Souvenir de Pomp\u00e9i"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Th\u00e9ophile Gautier fait revivre Pomp\u00e9i le temps d&rsquo;une nuit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Th\u00e9ophile Gautier, rentr\u00e9 en 1850 de son \u00abGrand Tour\u00bb en Italie, publie deux ans plus tard sa nouvelle <em>Arria Marcella<\/em>, mod\u00e8le du genre fantastique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge du romantisme. Elle d\u00e9bute avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de trois amis en Campanie, Fabio, Max et Octavien, avant de basculer dans le r\u00eave et l\u2019errance singuli\u00e8re d\u2019Octavien, boulevers\u00e9 \u00e0 jamais par une rencontre, celle d\u2019Arria Marcella. Aussi sensuelle qu\u2019insaisissable, cette figure fantomatique domine le r\u00e9cit d\u2019un enchantement amoureux, entre le songe et la mort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loin de cette conception onirique, le sous-titre de l\u2019\u0153uvre, \u00abSouvenir de Pomp\u00e9i\u00bb s\u2019ancre en revanche dans la temporalit\u00e9 d\u2019une exp\u00e9rience concr\u00e8te: \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on d\u2019un r\u00e9cit de voyage, il nous invite \u00e0 une lecture quelque peu plus r\u00e9aliste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans cette nouvelle \u00e9dition, l&rsquo;introduction est sign\u00e9e de l&rsquo;arch\u00e9ologue sp\u00e9cialiste de Pomp\u00e9i H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Dessales (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/iasa\/fr\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institut d&rsquo;arch\u00e9ologie et des sciences de l&rsquo;Antiquit\u00e9<\/a>) qui propose  une lecture arch\u00e9ologique du r\u00e9cit, en restituant l&rsquo;itin\u00e9raire d&rsquo;Octavien \u00e0 Pomp\u00e9i, mais aussi, derri\u00e8re lui, celui de l&rsquo;auteur Th\u00e9ophile Gautier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Th\u00e9ophile Gautier, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/pressesinverses.ch\/produit\/theophile-gautier-arria-marcella-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arria Marcella.
