Cet ouvrage s’appuie sur une analyse d’un corpus de textes arm\u00e9niens du Ve si\u00e8cle pour explorer l’influence des langues iraniennes sur la syntaxe de l’arm\u00e9nien. Alors que les contacts entre les langues iraniennes \u2013 en particulier le parthe \u2013 et l’arm\u00e9nien constituent un champ de recherche fertile depuis plusieurs d\u00e9cennies, leurs effets sur la syntaxe ont jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9glig\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robin Meyer (Section des sciences du langage et de l\u2019information<\/a>) soutient ici que la construction du parfait arm\u00e9nien (parmi d’autres syntagmes), avec son alignement morphosyntaxique inhabituel, a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e sur le mod\u00e8le de constructions similaires en parthe. Contrairement \u00e0 d’autres \u00e9tudes, ce mod\u00e8le de contact linguistique explique toutes les idiosyncrasies de la construction, ainsi que sa diachronie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette \u00e9tude offre \u00e9galement de nouvelles perspectives sur la dynamique socio-historique entre les Arm\u00e9niens et les Parthes, et sugg\u00e8re que les derniers, la classe dirigeante du Royaume d’Arm\u00e9nie pendant pr\u00e8s de quatre si\u00e8cles, ont abandonn\u00e9 leur langue maternelle.
