Cet ouvrage collectif traite des m\u00e9canismes et des mod\u00e8les de mise en sc\u00e8ne dans la France du XIXe si\u00e8cle. Souvent associ\u00e9e au th\u00e9\u00e2tre et \u00e0 la performance, la mise en sc\u00e8ne s’applique \u00e9galement aux arts visuels. Elle est profond\u00e9ment ancr\u00e9e dans un d\u00e9veloppement culturel plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ral comprenant la diffusion des connaissances, la prise de conscience politique et le consum\u00e9risme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les contributions r\u00e9unies par Camilla Murgia (Section d\u2019histoire de l\u2019art<\/a>) vont au-del\u00e0 de l’approche traditionnelle de la mise en sc\u00e8ne et s’articulent autour de trois mots cl\u00e9s principaux \u2013 para\u00eetre, appara\u00eetre et dispara\u00eetre \u2013 qui proposent de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons pour l’individu d’\u00eatre vu et de rendre le soi (et l’autre) visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au c\u0153ur de ce processus d’apparition et de disparition se trouvent les interactions et les \u00e9changes entre disciplines, mais aussi entre r\u00e9alit\u00e9s diverses. Cette vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de th\u00e8mes et d’approches contribue ainsi \u00e0 l’\u00e9tude de la culture visuelle de la France \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
