Pourquoi la culture gothique conna\u00eet-elle un tel regain d’int\u00e9r\u00eat depuis une trentaine d’ann\u00e9es\u00a0? En quoi les vampires, zombies, revenants, incarnent-ils notre \u00e9poque n\u00e9olib\u00e9rale\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n

L\u2019engouement que conna\u00eet la culture gothique depuis les ann\u00e9es 1980 co\u00efncide avec de nombreuses mutations politiques et \u00e9conomiques (triomphe de l\u2019\u00e9conomie de march\u00e9,\u00a0\u00e9volution des technologies de l\u2019information et de la communication, \u00e9mergence des biotechnologies mondiales, pouvoir croissant des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s transnationales,\u00a0guerre contre le terrorisme, crise financi\u00e8re mondiale, etc.).<\/p>\n

Des s\u00e9ries The Walking Dead<\/em>, Les Revenants<\/em> et American Horror Story<\/em> aux films Bordertown<\/em> et World War Z<\/em>, en passant par le th\u00e9\u00e2tre exp\u00e9rimental allemand et l\u2019art contemporain, les contributions internationales de ce volume, \u00e9dit\u00e9 par Agnieszka Soltysik Monnet (Section d’anglais<\/a>, membre de l\u2019International Gothic Association) et Linnie Blake (Manchester Metropolitan University), analysent la mani\u00e8re dont la culture gothique r\u00e9v\u00e8le le c\u00f4t\u00e9 obscur du n\u00e9olib\u00e9ralisme.<\/p>\n
