D\u00e9signant une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019espaces, tant publics que priv\u00e9s, fixes, portables ou pliables, le terme d\u2019exposition \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re se mat\u00e9rialise dans des sources textuelles et visuelles diverses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9unies par Dominique Bauer et Camilla Murgia (Section d\u2019histoire de l\u2019art<\/a>), les \u00e9tudes de cet ouvrage se concentrent sur deux espaces: l\u2019int\u00e9rieur domestique et son imagerie, ainsi que les expositions et les mus\u00e9es qui affichent \u00e0 la fois l\u2019identit\u00e9 nationale\/imp\u00e9riale et l\u2019alt\u00e9rit\u00e9 qui se cache au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res d\u2019un pays. Elles d\u00e9montrent que la m\u00eame tension op\u00e8re dans ces domaines, \u00e0 savoir entre l\u2019identification et l\u2019autorepr\u00e9sentation d\u2019une part et l\u2019ali\u00e9nation, l\u2019alt\u00e9rit\u00e9 et l\u2019objectivation de l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si ce premier volume est consacr\u00e9 aux espaces d\u2019exposition \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8res entre 1750 et 1918 dans divers pays europ\u00e9ens, un second volume (Ephemeral Spectacles, Exhibition Spaces and Museums 1750-1918<\/a><\/em>) examine quant \u00e0 lui la question des dispositifs convoqu\u00e9s pour leur mise en place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
