Dans cet ouvrage, Juliette Vuille (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/angl\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Section d\u2019anglais<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/cemep\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre d&rsquo;\u00e9tudes m\u00e9di\u00e9vales et post-m\u00e9di\u00e9vales<\/a>) suit la trace de ce mod\u00e8le de saintet\u00e9 en Angleterre, du IXe au XVIe si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<p>La sainte prostitu\u00e9e est un mod\u00e8le de saintet\u00e9 f\u00e9minine particuli\u00e8rement polyvalent, populaire tant aupr\u00e8s des hommes que des femmes, des la\u00efcs comme des clercs, des th\u00e9ologiens comme des r\u00e9formistes ou des femmes mystiques. Les prostitu\u00e9es repenties repr\u00e9sentaient la f\u00e9minit\u00e9 m\u00e9di\u00e9vale dans tous ses \u00e9tats, d&rsquo;\u00c8ve la p\u00e8cheresse \u00e0 la Vierge Marie, de sorte qu&rsquo;elle permet de comprendre la repr\u00e9sentation du genre f\u00e9minin en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.
