As indicated in our conference program, we are organizing some optional outings on Thursday and Friday evenings, in order to allow you to discover Lausanne and its region.
You will find more information below, and can register for these optional outings by filling in the registration form. Please register by 5 May.
Please note that, since these outings are optional, they are not covered by the registration fee, and you will need to pay for your own food and beverage.
Thursday 11 May: Guided tour of Lausanne Cathedral, 6.30 to 8.00pm (free)
Two official guides of the Lausanne Cathedral will offer a tour of this magnificent building, consecrated in 1275 and being one of the must-see landmarks of the city.
Registered participants will be invited to gather at the conference venue once the last session of the day is finished (c. 5.30pm), and we will all go to the Cathedral as a group. For those who wish to join us directly there, please refer to the directions provided on the Cathedral’s website.
Thursday 11 May: Fondue dinner at Café de L’Evéché, 8pm onwards
Following the visit of the Cathedral, you are welcome to join us for a traditional Swiss fondue dinner at the Café de l’Evéché, situated just a couple of minutes away from the Cathedral.
You will there have the choice between:
- A menu comprising of an assiette valaisanne (cheese, cured meat an pickles), a Fondue Moitié Moitié, and a dessert (Meringues à la crème doubles et ses fruits rouges), for 39.50.- CHF*
- or a vegeterian option, price to be announced shortly*.
* drinks and additional food are not included in these prices.
Friday 12 May : Wine tasting in Lavaux, 6.00 until approximately 8.00pm
A wine-tasting event will take place in the beautiful Domaine Croix-Duplex, situated right at the heart of the UNESCO-listed vinyards terraces of the Lavaux region.
You will have the possibility to taste four different wines of the region, accompanied by nibbles, for 18.- CHF per person. Please note that no dinner option will be provided there, and that participants will have to make their own plans for the rest of the evening.
Registered participants will gather at 6.00pm at the conference venue and we will all take the train directly to Grandvaux (train ticket offered by the organisers). The wine-tasting will start around 6.30pm, and will last approximately until 8.00pm.
