My research centers on using radio echo sounding to derive critical ice properties, such as ice-crystal orientation and its influence on mechanical ice deformation. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary approaches that combine radar-derived data with complementary observations, such as ice cores, and ice-flow models, to connect precise point observations with larger spatial scales essential for understanding ice-sheet-wide processes.<br><br>My current research focuses on using autonomous phase-sensitive radio echo sounding (ApRES) to monitor englacial and subglacial hydrology near high-elevation surface lakes in Southwest Greenland. Combined with hydrological and geodetic measurements, this research helps evaluate the efficiency of the subglacial drainage system under thick-ice conditions. I obtained my bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in physical geography from the University of Graz, specializing in Arctic glaciology and the application of remote sensing in polar regions.
