{"id":156,"date":"2018-03-27T16:26:59","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T14:26:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/hmg\/?page_id=156"},"modified":"2022-04-06T14:55:47","modified_gmt":"2022-04-06T12:55:47","slug":"permafrost-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.unil.ch\/hmg\/research\/permafrost-monitoring\/","title":{"rendered":"Permafrost monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #808080\">Permafrost monitoring<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This long-term project aims at studying the evolution of mountain permafrost in various sites of the Swiss Alps.\u00a0 The following parameters are monitored :<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>G<\/strong><strong>round temperatures<\/strong> in 13 boreholes drilled in talus slopes at Les Attelas (Verbier), Lapires (Nendaz) and Petit Mont Rouge (Arolla), in a moraine at the Gentianes pass (Verbier-Nendaz) and in bedrock at the top of the Mont Fort (Verbier-Nendaz) and at the Pointe du Tsat\u00e9 (Evol\u00e8ne);<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Ground surface temperatures<\/strong> in a hundred locations spread over 12 sites;<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0<strong>Annual and seasonal velocities<\/strong> of about ten <strong>rock glaciers<\/strong> with dGPS, permanent GPS and UAVs;<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Electrical resistivities<\/strong> in the Attelas talus slope.<\/p>\n<p>A large part of these data are integrated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.permos.ch\">PERMOS<\/a> network (PERmafrost MOnitoring Switzerland).
