Bio

Robert Danon is a Professor of Swiss and International tax law at University of Lausanne and teaches at the Business and Economics Faculty (HEC Lausanne), as well as at the University’s Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice and Public Administration. Additionally, he is a director of the Tax Policy Centre at the University of Lausanne.

Professor Danon’s academic research focuses first of all on Swiss, comparative, international tax law  (in particular tax treaty law and transfer pricing) as well as public international law in general. His second area concerns the interaction between tax and international investment law and the role and impact of investment arbitration in tax disputes. He is frequently requested to act as expert witness in international arbitration and has also advised governments on tax policy matters.

Since 2017, Robert Danon serves as the Chairman of the Permanent Scientific Committee (PSC) of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the largest non-governmental, non-sectoral and neutral international organization dealing with fiscal matters.
