Déborah Philippe is Full Professor in the Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne.
She received a PhD in Strategy in 2009 from HEC Paris. Her research examines the role of social evaluations (i.e., status, reputation, legitimacy, and stigma) in shaping organizations’ strategic behavior. She explores this question along two main axes: 1) organizations’ strategic behavior to manage these social evaluations, and 2) the impacts of these social evaluations on inter-organizational dynamics.
Her work on these questions integrates research streams from management, organizational sociology, and environmental sustainability. Her research covers a wide range of sectors (natural resources, IT, watchmaking, fashion, etc) and has appeared in leading academic peer reviewed journals such as the Strategic Management Journal or the Journal of Management Studies.
