Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships
13 septembre 2023 @ 17:00
There are two types of Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF):
- the European Fellowship (1-2y inside Europe, for any nationatly)
- the Global Fellowship (1-2y outside Europe, 1 y inside Europe, for nationals or long-term (5y) residents of EU & associate countries)
Both of them offer funding for stay abroad. Researchers applying for a MSCA PF must at the time of the call deadline have a PhD, no more than 8 years of research experience after PhD (see complex rules here!) and must not have spent more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the call deadline in the country of the future host institution.
Switzerland‘s status:
- Switzerland is currently considered as a “third country”. It is not possible to apply for a MSC European Fellowship with a Swiss host.
- Switzerland is eligible as a host country for the outgoing phase of a MSCA Global Fellowship. Swiss nationals are not eligible for participation in MSCA Global Fellowships, unless they are long-term residents in a Member State or Associated Country.
- Switzerland can host a ‘secondment’ (up to 8 months stay) for a European Fellowship
To compensate inegibility of Switzerland, the Swiss SNSF Postdoctoral Fellowship (grant with Swiss host, implemented by FNS) may open with a likely deadline on Dec 2023 (see on FNS website).
